I’m having a problem with the SRS Airbag Light. It’s staying on, all the time, and stays flashing.
The only thing I can think of is that I was messing about with the window switch, and maybe I crossed wires somewhere…but I’m not sure.
It’s 1 airbag, on the driver’s side. I’ve checked all the fuses, they are all ok.
Any ideas?
should probably also add, there are no wires underneath the driver’s seat, and I have also tried unplugging the battery…

If it doesnt clear when you disconnect the battery it means there is a fault on the system, could be either an internal fault on the airbag or SDM, or a wiring fault. Also, if it has a fault on the pretensioner on the seatbelt this can turn on the light. The only way of knowing is to check the fault codes using a code reader, you will be best taking it to the garage.

The amber Airbag Indicator Light wont stop flashing on my dashboard in my Peugeot 206 does anyone know whats wrong

In the manual it said to contact my local Peugeot dealer if it flashes

the 206 does not have a orange wire under the seat so stop looking!!!!!!
get it repaired now!!!
peugeot have had some problems with comm 2000 units
(thats the switch that controls the wipers and the indicators)
is your car newish
2001- if so that would probebly be the problem
*(level of drivers trigger module) would be the fault on diagnostic machine
try taking it to an non peugeot garage and get them to put the daignostic machine on it

I have just bought a 54 plate Renault megane. I have noticed when driving the service light and airbag light comes on intermittently. What does this mean and is it important? Please only answer if u know cos I can make guesses myself!

Hi all, I have a Mitsubishi Colt CZ2 year 2006 UK model 1.3 Petrol (gasoline) that has had the pre tensioner activated on the passenger seat belt, the seat belt and pre tensioner have been replaced with a known good unit but the SRS (airbag) lamp is still lit, consequently the car beeps at me every so often, it’s annoying. Short of taking it to the dealers and splashing the cash, does anyone out there know how to reset the SRS light? I have tried the Bosch hand held diagnostic unit but it will not recognise the fault. Thanks.

There are specific items that are required replacement items when a deployment occurs or when an airbag light comes on…and there are some items that are "check only". Check out the websites below for the EXACT answers to your questions including fault code charts and reset information. This site tells you exactly what needs to be replaced and how to access them (seat belts & all) on over 3500 cars. I have a Nissan Altima and when the airbag light is flashing with #2, it means that whoever is on the front passenger seat is too small or doesn’t weight very much. So the airbag is off and will not work. Check on your car manual.

I went to start my car this morning and the airbag light is on for no reason. ALso my stereo now says ‘locked’, I think it’s the anti theft but the car hasn’t been broken into and I haven’t been in any wreck. Can someone tell me what’s wrong? And how do I fix it?

A couple of things…
The airbag system is not tied to the antitheft system on your car (if you even have one). The radio (and airbag circuit) may have lost power which would trigger the "Lock" code to appear. Check all your fuses. If you lost power in an improtant circuit, it may affect both systems.

Regarding the airbag, your car will require a scan tool to diagnose it properly, but here’s a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system.

On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident.
The flashing light on your car is telling the answer you need. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.

Signs of faulty ignition switch: no power at 1st key position, airbag light on/flickers, radio not functioning, no DSP display on MENU, steering column moves by itself while driving, opening the mirror in the visor causes the steering column to move, no seat/steering memory functions. There are more signs, but these are what’s happening in my E38.

Well one day I started the car and the SRS light came on and i want to get ride of it, the airbags look new, they are not cracked or anything like that so i was wondering if i should replace the "AIRBAG MODULE SRS" or should i get the airbags 2???

go into the fuse box and take out that fuse, the operation manual should have a diagram of which fuse is connect to the lighting in the dash board.
