Just got a new stereo installed on my Volvo S60 2005 and i see the service light with message "SRS Airbag Service Urgent:..
Any Idea where i can get this message cleared??
The Installer didnt update the steering wheel controls to control the stereo. He just replaced the standard one and i was with him during the entire installation process. The Airbag check happens and goes off after i start the engine…but the message still remains..

I am assuming your installer attempted to splice in to the steerig wheel stereo controls for your factory stereo so that you could continue to use those with the new stereo…..a possible reason you are getting this service light. You are going to have to go the dealer to get this cleared….just in case your installer miswired something in your airbag system. Not likely to happen, but ti wouldn’t be un to have your stering wheel airag go off while you are driving.

Would it be a fuse and if it is does it mess the airbag up if u pull the fuse?

On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident. The flashing light on your car is telling there is a problem. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Your vehicle will require a scan tool for the proper diagnosis (and not the one at Auto Zone—it needs to be airbag system specific, like a good body shop or the dealer). Here’s a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.
Airbagsolutions.com has the fault code charts to tell you what is wrong! Although it’s a pay site ($14.95/day), it’s a lot cheaper than going to the dealer.

Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate systems without a scanner (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) . Most all other vehicles require a scan tool for the diagnosis. Here is a link to the list of vehicle and scanner requirements.

btw its a 97 Mits. Mirage DE.. ok i posted a question on here about how the battery quit charging and i used a make-shift wire to run from the alternator to the battery.. it worked for about a week and quit.. my lights were going dim on me, the SRS Airbag light was coming on.. was told it was the make shift wire i used because it wasnt think enough.. WELL.. i replaced that with the proper wire from the auto parts store.. let the battery charge back up and went to drive it around to test it.. the lights didnt go dim, the SRS light didnt come on anymore.. i even used my brights, the blinker and the wipers at the same time which probably would have made it die before lol.. but it was all fine!!.. so i stop the car and turned it off.. immediately i tried to turn the car back on and couldnt get fire.. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR?!?!?! please no answers saying "the alternator is bad".. no its not!! i had it checked.. and plus if it was bad, the car wouldnt keep itself running with a dead battery and bad alternator.. maybe the ground wire from the battery isnt grounding out properly??
to TheBax… if u see this.. i dunno how to reply to just u.. no my battery light does not come on.. the only light to ever come on was the SRS Airbag light.. and how can i check to see if those fuses are good?? and is it a fuse under the hood? or under the dash?? and i dont know how many V’s are coming out of the battery when its running the only tester i have is just one u ground out and stick it to what ur checkin and it lights up..
NVM i see u said in the engine compartment.. but i still need to know how to check if they are good or not.. this car has been jumped plenty of time.. i just got home from taking my Fiance to school.. and even after 30 minutes of driving.. which it ran just fine.. the car wouldnt start back up after i turned it off..

Is the battery charge indicator light on with KOEO? There is an 80amp and/or 100amp main fuse in the engine compartment fuse box that blows when a battery is jumped or charged for a second. These fuses are bolted in and don’t just pull out like the smaller fuses. Your alternator may check out good at a parts store but I’ve already had a bad alternator that checked out OK at Auto Zone. You should have at least 13.7 volts at the battery with the motor running or else you have a bad diode in the alternator and it is not charging enough and may also drain the battery when the motor is off. Don’t trust alternator testing off the car.

As of V1.6.0.4 of the UltraProg software clearing airbag ECU’s is even easier and quicker. This video shows the full procedure from start to finish.

This is a real time video on changing a brake light in a 2005 Nissan Altima. I’ve pointed out some helpful information:
-how to release & easily replace the weather stripping/carpet cover
-how to remove the cargo net connector
-a standard socket won’t reach over the bolt, I had to use an adjustable wrench but just to loosen the nut/washer; I then used my hand to remove them
-location of plastic posts which stabilize the light casing
-identify which bulb is being replaced for a brake light
-how to use simple leverage to remove the connector for the electrical
-where to use dielectric grease on the new bulb
