1997 Saturn Sc2 airbag light flashing?

I have a 1997 Saturn Sc2, and when I turn it on the airbag indicator light flashes for a few seconds then turns off. I checked on the Carfax website and found out that a flashing indicator means potential problems with the airbag. I was wondering if anyone had this similar issue, and what "potential problems" could be happening with the airbag manifold. Thank you for your input.
It’s suppose to do that. That’s just the controller going through a self test whenever you turn the key on. It’s only trouble if it flashes all the time.
It’s working properly. The flashing is the check mode for your restraint system. It shuts off indicating that all is well with the system.
The car fax website is referring to a continuous flashing airbag light, not the check mode initial flash.

On the worst of the case if you get involved in a traffic accident and there is something wrong with the air bag system them could no operate properly resulting on dangerous situation. there is a tester instrument to check the system get your car to repair shop and get tested.
