I just bought an 01 Saturn and I have had it about a week but just today I noticed the airbag light started flashing for a few extra seconds like 6 seconds when i start the car but then it goes off. Does anyone know what this means?

Someone said its just the airbag running diagnostics and not to worry about it. Is this true?

Most vehicles will flash the light when first turned on during the system test. If I remember right it should flash 8 times and then turn off. If the light doesn’t stay on the system check passed.
