would you buy a car that has the airbag lights flashing?
We were keen on buying a 2005 Honda Oddysey, but when we got the inspection report, they found that one of the airbags light kept on flashing.. this happened after the car got warmed up. What could it be and would you buy the car?

I don’t know much about motor cars. However, when there is a light flashing it usually means that you are being warned that the airbag is not installed properly or that the wiring is shorting. I would ask the sellers to repair it a no cost to your.
On the other hand, if it is 4 – 5 years old – remember a lot of cars are made 1 year in advance of the year they are badged for – you may be better to look elsewhere for a motor car. This flashing light may be a sign that more things are wrong than you can see.
The government auctions of used public service motor vehicles is a good place to pick up a second hand car. Often they don’t have great miles on them and are usually well serviced before sale.

Mine has been flashing for about 2 years and it runs fine.
But, if you do you should Google airbag trouble codes for it first.
Then you’ll have a better understanding of whats wrong, it might be a loose connection.

Ask them to fix it first or get someone to check it with a scanner for the code. If the airbag is has been deploy and not replaced they cost a couple of thousand dollars to replace. Don’t worry about the $$ the airbag can be the difference between been alive or some minor injuries be wise.
