I want to turn the airbag light off. When I pull it what other things is that fuse connected to.

Bad idea. The airbag light is on the same fuse and the rest of the instrument cluster and HVAC controls, and the clock, and part of the ECU.

Basically if you pulled it, you would have no working gauges, and no heat or AC. The airbag is a majority safety issue, get it fixed.

  1. Chris Said,

That’s like cutting off your foot when you stub your toe. Go to a Ford dealership and have them scan the vehicle for error codes. You realise that the airbag won’t work properly (or not at all) when that light is on.

On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident. This website gives you the procedure for diagnosing and resetting airbag lights on the …scanlist.aspx page listed below.

The flashing light on your car is telling there is a problem. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Your vehicle will NOT require a scan tool for the proper diagnosis. Here’s a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.
Airbagsolutions.com has the fault code charts to tell you what is wrong! Although it’s a pay site ($14.95/day), it’s a lot cheaper than going to the dealer.

Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate systems without a scanner (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) . Most all other vehicles require a scan tool for the diagnosis. Here is a link to the list of vehicle and scanner requirements.
Check out these websites also for more info on airbag systems and the light.
Lastly, check your vehicle for recalls through this link.

  5. Rob Said,

When you switch the ignition on watch the ABS lamp carefully it will come on then start flashing a code. If it flashes 4 times its a bad connection under the seat (probably the drivers seat, because it gets moved the most) Different flash codes mean different things. If you bumped the car and have had it repaired it will need a new module, I’ve heard some places can reprogramme a module for a small fee but you’ll need to find out what the code is 1st. Another method is this: Ignition off, hold the trip button. turn ignition on keep button held, gauges should do a sweep, let go of button then keep pressing button. Every time you press it another test will appear in the display keep going till you see DTC flashing these are your codes. Then just Google them or ask on here :0).
    I know this will help.
