The airbags have not actually failed. I have an electrical problem where the lights on my dash keep flashing on but the air bag light stays on

Don’t know why so many correct answers have had a thumbs down.

It won’t fail, the airbag warning light is not part of the test. If there’s any doubt here’s a link to the testers manual. If you can find anywhere in there that says its a failure I’ll give you a £100.

Yeah it’s one of the things that will cause a MOT fail. Unless you get someone to turn the light off and take it to a backstreet MOT center who not look to closely at it.

Hi. Try turnning your ignition on without starting you vehicle, press the brake peddle 6 times. Turn the key to the off position and wait 1 minute. start your vehicle and see if that works. If not, disconect the + or – on your battery for about 1 minute then hook it back up. This is like rebooting your computer. If none of this works but your vehicle runs and perform well, then take the light bulbs out of the ones that stay on.??? Don’t know for sure but these simple steps have worked for me. Good luck.

No, the SRS stands for supplementary restrainst System and unlike faulty seat belts is not a MOT fail

No your car will not fail its mot for having the air bag lamp permanently lit but you will get a advisory notice for this issue.

No it won’t. The only warning light which must operate its normal cycle for the MoT is that for the ABS, if fitted.

Air bag light "on" is a pass and advise item

Light activated puts the system down and not working so from a safety point I would get it checked out anyway but like I said Pass and Advise
