Replacement Airbags For your Vehicle

After removing some fueses, my air bag light stays on, never did this before.

anything dealing with saftey restraint system, ie airbags and seatbelts, and its light comes on, trying to kill the power to your ecu will do nothing, no matter what make… in every car i have dealt with, the srs stuff has a seperate computer, with a constant power supply and marked wire harnesses that are a different color… you have to get your car scanned and then reset by the scanner… its a saftey measure that if the light ever comes on, it has to be scanned to make sure nothing is wrong with your srs…

i suggest getting it scanned with a vag-com… you can try to go on to vwvortex.com and go to the regional section to see if anyone live around you that can do it for you… it might cost you a beer or free, depending on person…

if you cannot do that you can either go to autozone to use their scanner, usually thats free, or pay at the dealer

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. If this won’t help, go to the VW dealer or a garage that has a scantool to connect to VW airbag module

Disconnect the battery, by unscrewing the bolt connecting the wire to the negative side. Shouldn’t be a need to wait more then a few seconds with it unconnected.

this was a problem with my jetta. Disconecting the battery didn’t work. You will more than likely need to take it to the dealer or a mechanic with the proper tools.
