how to pass inspection with srs light on?
i have a 1998 honda prelude type sh..my srs light is on i dont think it has an airbag..but i need an inspection asap and the light is on ..is there anything i can do to pass inspection without them seeing that my srs light is on ..example: can i take the bulb out of srs that way it does not show to pass…and i also need to know if srs codes with show up on obd2??? if they do not show on obd2 then im pretty sure that i can take the bulb out and pass ..but i need someone help to know for sure or anything else…i slao already tryed reseting the srs and it comes back on because theres codes in the srs system .so some1 please help me out please…thank you
Verify that your model does not have an airbag, then point it out to the inspector (if you haven’t fixed the problem by inspection time). Done plenty of oddball problem trouble shooting, and forums are the best places to find answers. However, use the search function first before posting.
The SRS code will show up on the OBDII test. Does your state require the SRS system to be functional? If you are only going for an emissions test (and not a safety test), then check with your state to see if the SRS light is a requirement. Otherwise, the only fix is to get the failed component replaced.
