Rover 800 Airbag faults help needed!?
I’m having a problem with the SRS Airbag Light. It’s staying on, all the time, and stays flashing.
The only thing I can think of is that I was messing about with the window switch, and maybe I crossed wires somewhere…but I’m not sure.
It’s 1 airbag, on the driver’s side. I’ve checked all the fuses, they are all ok.
Any ideas?
should probably also add, there are no wires underneath the driver’s seat, and I have also tried unplugging the battery…
If it doesnt clear when you disconnect the battery it means there is a fault on the system, could be either an internal fault on the airbag or SDM, or a wiring fault. Also, if it has a fault on the pretensioner on the seatbelt this can turn on the light. The only way of knowing is to check the fault codes using a code reader, you will be best taking it to the garage.

According to the Rover 800 handbook, the airbag circuit should be checked at about 10 years after manufacture. Take it to a competent auto electrician who can check it out for you, as the steering wheel airbag contains an explosive charge which if messed with by someone who is untrained could cause serious injury. Messing about with the window switch should not cause the problem you now have
