The "SRS" light came on in my 93′ Volvo 850. Is this something I should get fixed?

I’m pretty sure it means that the airbag won’t deploy when needed. I’m more worried about not passing inspection. Is there a way I can just disconnect the bulb or something or should I just shell out the money and get this problem cleared up? Thanks.
I would get the problem fixed, the airbags could save your life in a severe collision. Even taking the bulb out won’t make it pass inspection. most states pull the error codes from the computer & there is no way to hide the problem from them.

The supplemental restraint system light can come on if you also have moving seat belts that aren’t attached. On my ‘Roo there’s a lap belt, as well as a moving shoulder belt that slid over you after you closed the door and put the key in the ignition. If for whatever reason the belt doesn’t move fully in place, or if the shoulder belt got unlatched, the SRS light would come on.
If it’s the airbag module, just ignore the damn light. The best airbag in the world isn’t 1% as good at saving your life as the crappiest seat belt.

Get it fixed. You do not want a non-working air bag in your car. It may deply at the wrong time. At the least get it diagnosed so you know what is wrong.

If you want you can disconnect the bulb however be ready for a surprise. If you don’t have it checked and repaired you are running the risk of having it not work when needed or having it work when not needed. Unless you know what you are doing do not mess with the air bag system. If you set it off you are looking at several thousand dollars to replace it. Also do not mess with yellow wires. Thankfully the color yellow is used with all manufacturers in the US for air bags.

get it fixed as it’s for your own protection, probably something simple.
