YAMATO-BAHN RUN ON THE BRIDGE, I BOGGED CAUSE I DIDN’T LET GO OF THE BRAKES, WHEN I LET GO OF THE SMG SHIFTER… WHILE LAUNCHING *SMACK*
ALSO AS THE I PICKED UP SPEED THE DIFFERENTIAL LIGHT TURNED ON BECAUSE FLUID WAS LOW… THE INPUT SHAFT SEAL ON THE DIFF IS LEAKING SO I JUST ADDED 75W140 ROYAL PURPLE THAT SAME NIGHT… SO EVERY THING IS GOOD… FOR NOW… I STILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE SEAL….
YESSS I HAVE A CHRISTMAS LIGHT DASH… AND ITS PURRRY… LOL ENGINE LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE THE VANOS IS TOO ADVANCED, IT NEEDS A NEW SOLENOID… AND THE CARRIER ON THAT BLINKER IS UP… ITS NOT THE BULB…
ALSO RANDOM INTERMITTENT AIR BAG LIGHT… DONT KNOW WHY YET… LOL GO BEAMER…

This is just a little vid I shot with the dash cam in my Civic and forgot about. Actually my ex girl was in the Honda and I’m in my Bimmer spinnin’ out.
Replaced the ignition switch in my 1997 BMW 740iL…and all of the electrical gremlins disappeared The airbag warning light went off, the rear sunshade works, the DSP control unit lights up when the radio is turned on, the horn works again, the lights and buttons on the steering wheel light up and work…and most of all…when you pull down the sun visor and open the cover on the mirror…the interior lights NO longer come on…and the STEERING WHEEL doesn’t move up and the radio continues to play.
Signs of faulty ignition switch: no power at 1st key position, airbag light on/flickers, radio not functioning, no DSP display on MENU, steering column moves by itself while driving, opening the mirror in the visor causes the steering column to move, no seat/steering memory functions. There are more signs, but these are what’s happening in my E38.
Signs of a failing ignition switch includes weird electronic gremlins like DSP control unit stops working, rear sunshade stops working, horn stops working, Airbag Light illuminates on dash, MLF steering wheel buttons and lights stop working…and the oddest thing of all…when you pull down the sunvisors and open the mirror covers…the steering wheel will move upward, the radio may shut off, the interior light will fade on…and if you close the mirror cover and return the sun visor back to the up position…the interior lights will fade back off, the steering wheel will move downward, and the radio will come back on.
