I got this car at the auction this weekend for $260. It starts up but is a little rough…It still has its original throttle valve bushing and the TV cable is still connected…I’ve ordered the new brass bushing kit to replace it. Also there is an air bag warning code being flashed.

All New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport GS

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has upgraded the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport GS with automatic climate control, cruise control, a rear spoiler and roof rail. There’s also a new 2-DIN entertainment system with a wide touchscreen that includes a reverse camera feature.
The new version of the imported Pajero Sport GS is priced at RM161,531.80 (on the road without insurance) and is offered with a choice of four colours (Eisen Gray Mica, Dark Blue Mica, Platinum Beige Metallic and White Pearl).
“The Pajero Sport has been a success since its debut in Malaysia last June. And to date, it has found more than 1,000 proud owners. We expect this upgraded GS variant to further widen the appeal of the Pajero Sport. The riding comfort of the 7-seat cabin is one of its biggest strengths, being both versatile and spacious enough to carry long cargo and passengers. With an impressive set of new features, the Pajero Sport GS is one of the best in its class,” said Tetsuya Oda, the new CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia. He added that the company expects to sell more than 2,000 units of the model by the end of this year.
The mechanical specifications are unchanged for the latest version. The proven and reliable commonrail turbodiesel engine produces 136 ps of power with 314 Nm of torque from a low 2000 rpm, giving the vehicle the ability to cope with the toughest conditions and yet also keep running costs low.
The capable engine is paired with Mitsubishi’s INVECS-II 4-speed automatic transmission. INVECS-II shift control analyzes the driving pattern and conditions and adapts to it by creating a profile that matches the driver’s characteristics. There is also a Sport Mode that offers the control of a manual transmission.
Like other conventional full-sized SUVs, the Pajero Sport has a ladder frame which offers greater load-carrying capability and strength in rough conditions. It rides on a double-wishbone suspension up front and 3-link suspension with coil springs at the rear plus stabilizer bars on both ends, a combination that provides both robustness and a high-level of comfort. The turning radius is a tight 5.6 metres, which should be very useful when travelling along narrow jungle trails.
The strong but light bodyshell, together with the strong ladder frame, provide the Pajero Sport with good resistance and impact-absorption during an accident. Other safety features such as a collapsible steering column, anti-intrusion brake pedal, side door impact bars and seatbelts with pretensioners/force limiters, dual SRS airbags, ABS and EBD ensure that the occupants have the best protection.
All Pajero Sport customers receive a 2-year/40,000 km free maintenance program and a 3-year/100,000 km warranty (whichever occurs first).

New Land Cruiser is equipped as standard with seven SRS airbags: driver’s dual-stage front airbag, a new driver’s knee airbag, passenger front airbag, front side airbags and full-length curtain airbags, giving head protection to outer seat occupants in all three rows.
The vehicle comes as standard with a full range of braking, traction control and stability systems: ABS with EBD and Brake Assist; Traction Control (TRC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).
The 2,982cc, 16-valve DOHC common rail unit develops 171bhp at 3,400rpm and 410Nm of torque from 1,600 to 2,800rpm. This enables nought to 62mph acceleration in 11.7 seconds and a top speed of 109mph.
The engine is highly durable and meets Euro 4 emissions standards. Compared to the previous Land Cruiser, CO2 emissions have been reduced from 224 to 214g/km. Fuel consumption is significantly better, too, with the official combined cycle figure improving from 31.4 to 34.9mpg. The use of new high-pressure, fast response fuel injectors has played a key role in achieving cleaner, more fuel-efficient performance.
The engine has two balancer shafts built into the cylinder block to reduce vibration. Driven by the timing gear, these rotate at twice the speed of the crankshaft and in opposite directions.
Under light engine loads, a valve-operated Exhaust Gar Recirculation (EGR) cooler bypass is activated to prevent the temperature inside the combustion chamber from falling to an abnormally low level, enabling optimum EGR operation and maintaining the best possible emissions performance.
The five-speed sequential automatic transmission has a number of features that promote smooth shifts, low noise, strong performance and good fuel efficiency, whether driving on or off-road.
